OUR COMMUNITY
Trinity Lutheran is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. We welcome you and invite you to join us for our Sunday worship at 9:30 am.

Trinity Lutheran Church is the oldest church in Mobridge with its beginning in 1884. Two other congregations were formed in 1895 and 1897. In December 1906, the 3 congregations joined together and were named Trinity Lutheran Church. Articles of Incorporation were filed in Pierre on April 27, 1908.
Soon after the consolidation and incorporation, plans for a new church in the newly established town of Mobridge were underway. A church was built at 402 3rd Ave West, the current location of the United Methodist Church. This church served the members of Trinity well for nearly 50 years. However, due to the increase in membership, the congregation undertook an ambitious building project in 1955. A new church was built at its present location and was dedicated on April 22, 1956.
From 1999-2003, the Northern Oahe Parish was formed which consisted of Trinity Lutheran Church, Norway Lutheran Church of rural Glenham, and Redeemer Lutheran Church of McLaughlin. These 3 churches were served by Pastor Dennis Fonkert and Associate Pastor Bryce Fellbaum (1999-2001).
Many things have changed over the years, but Trinity Lutheran Church still remains true to its roots. Organizations like the Men of Trinity and Trinity Lutheran Church Women continue their work. Sunday School and other youth programs have continued as well. “Newer” additions include The Bells of Trinity and Youth Bells of Trinity which provide beautiful music for our congregation.

“The church is a place where broken people can fall in love with a beautiful God”
